Rehab Coaching

If pain or functional limitations are diminishing your quality of life, and you’re struggling to find the way forward, you are not alone! Personalized coaching offers support and compassion combined with strategic guidance toward your wants and goals informed by Tiffany’s years of experience working as a physical therapist, yoga therapist, and as a person who has had to recover from multiple surgeries and lives with a persistent pain condition (mine is likely due to being on the hypermobility spectrum - though pain is complex so who knows?).

Some reasons you might try coaching

  • You have completed physical therapy but still have gaps from what you can do and what you want or need to do.

  • You are pre or post-op and have concerns or want education and/or advice.

  • You have an injury (new or lingering) or an obnoxious mystery pain has popped up and you need advice on next steps.

  • You are struggling with a type of movement you want or need to do (like getting up and down off the floor, walking without a limp, running/jumping, navigating stairs, reaching overhead for items, etc).

  • Fear or uncertainty about how to approach desired activities (like if you’re afraid of dead lifts)

  • Systemic pain - Hypermobility, autoimmune disease, cancer, complex regional pain syndrome, etc

  • You coach or instruct others and want to build confidence working with those experiencing pain.

  • You simply want to better understand how pain works.

  • Any other reason you’ve got!

Tiffany’s Approach

  • Individualized: One-on-one coaching sessions are designed to address your specific challenges.

  • Holistic: The pain experience is influenced by a variety of factors beyond injury or disease process, including emotional/mental health, genetic factors, environmental/social factors, and lifestyle factors. Coaching provides tools and guidance to determine which factors are most impactful and modifiable for you.

  • Optimistic + Realistic: Our best current evidence tells me that brains and bodies are adaptable and resilient (not frail or fragile), and this is the basis for my approach.

  • Health at Every Size® (HAES): I believe that people off all body types and sizes can be well, and I never counsel weight loss as a critical component to pain relief. Why? See this article for a primer!
